Outreach activities 2023

11F- Talent Girls: almost 3000 children

NanoOnSurf team has visited a dozen schools and institutes in the city of Seville and the surrounding towns to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The objective of the activity is to encourage STEM disciplines among children, and especially girls from an early age.

8M: International Women’s Day

NanoOnSurf team from Seville was in several centers for International Women’s Day to make historical and contemporary women researchers visible and encourage scientific-technical vocations by showing the work we do at 3Dscavengers.

Ciceron Program: companies, media and politicians discuss digitalization

The CSIC has organized part of the itinerary of the Ciceron program in the laboratories of the Surface Nanotechnology and Plasma group. This initiative seeks to bring together relevant personalities from companies, foundations, public administrations and the media so that they can learn directly about the scientific projects and the research staff who carry them out.

Furthermore, the 3DScavengers team later participated in a debate titled “Digitalization and New Technologies applied to the sustainable manufacturing of nanomaterials for clean energy” in which we explained the different solutions that are being worked on by the 3DScavengers project.

Outreach activities 2022

Sport & Science

The Nano on Surf team was on the volleyball court with Sports Club ‘Las Flores Sevilla’ to talk about the International Day of Women and Girls in Science and 3DScavengers project to improve the world around us through science and new technologies.

STEM Talent Girls

“¡Mom/dad I made a solar cell at school today, I want to become a scientist!” We have talked about  the situation of women and girls in science to students of the Adharaz school  (Seville) and making scientific experiments.

Little scientists, big experiments

Nano on Surf team gave a workshop on scientific experiments to preschool and primary school students from Las Salesianas School (Seville). They became explorers and scientists for a day and learned about science through food and other objects that we usually have at home.

Microphotographers

The research Lidia Contreras and Javier Castillo are two great microphotographers in 3DScavengers. Their pictures have been chosen to be part of the FOTCIENCIA18 catalog.
